It’s not uncommon for people who believe that same sex relationships are wrong to tell those who disagree with them to “read the bible”  –  specifically one or more of the six passages known as the “clobber passages” in which God (supposedly) condemns same sex relationships.

If you are serious about understanding the meaning of the particular passages that are used to support the idea that God condemns same sex relationships you will want to look at these texts by examining the history of scripture to find out what is meant and how it should be applied.   In other words, the problem is not what scripture says but what scripture means.
